Stefan Johansson has been active in the construction, development, and marina industries for more than four decades. He founded Sunhouse Construction in 1982, growing it to over $500 million in completed work across the southeastern United States.
In commercial development, Johansson founded Gulfside Development, which built, owned, and managed more than 20 million square feet of commercial real estate. Its flagship project was Downtown Dadeland, a $300 million mixed-use development in Miami.
Johansson entered the marina industry in 1999 and has since built and exited three marina platforms: a Northern European platform, Prime Marina Group (founded 2015), and Windward Marina Group (established 2018). Windward's 13 properties and 3,000 slips were acquired by Suntex Marinas in 2026.
